Does this count?

So if I tidy up all my writing papers and poems and put them in folders and open a fresh exercise book and look at my thesis idea then come and blog it… does that count as writing? Maybe I could major in procrastination next year?

That TOTALLY counts
I have been reading Rachel King at “Sound of Butterflies” she has discovered the joy of giving herself the space to “not write”
Isn’t a picture worth a thousand words?
Nice one Julie

Thanks AAML - I’ve been reading her blog too. I think I’ve had lots of “not to write” space now
Ooh, what thesis idea? I am intrigued.
I’m not sure if thesis is the right word for it but I’m thinking about “magical thinking” as a reoccurring theme for my book / MA application.
Even more intriguing. What field are you planning to do it in?
I’m going to finally apply to do the IIML MA for next year but I wont hold my breath, I don’t really expect to get in.
Good on you. If you get in, it was meant, if you don’t, the fates decided that you are better off without it. I think the really valuable thing it would give you is a year in which your writing was prioritised and a group of people to share it with, and inspire and encourage you. But either way, it will be good to see more writing from you.
Very true. Another great thing is that I have taken time out this year to just get my act together and focus on writing, which feels great no matter what the outcome!
