I was thinking I needed practice anyways, so not to waste good material on my first attempt I just cut up a pair of my old army fatigues. I also thought that if I was going to be making this for my girl that it needed an exterior cellphone pocket, so I just used part of the pant leg with the cargo pocket which meant I had to make the bag longer. Basically I have a tactical purse now...unfortunately the cargo pocket on the side doesn't function well with the bag closed. For my first try I learned a lot! just finished my fist sewing project ever! it turned out pretty well.
